- What paint do you use on the exterior of a house?
There are several high quality paints on the market. For exterior paint, I like Benjamin Moore, but my favorite paint is Duration by Sherwin Williams. It has a fantastic warranty and I like the fact that it is self priming, so if I am in process of painting the house and find a bubble, I can scrape it, hit the spot with paint, come back later and hit it one more time. Saves time of having to grab the primer, and so forth. It looks great too. Back to Top
- What paint do you like for the inside?
Again there are many good paints and one more time my favorite paint is Duration Home. This paint is on the high side of price, but the matte finish is outstanding, cleans up very nice and has great hiding qualities in that I can usually get the job done in one coat, saving you money on labor. There are other great paints on the market too, but this is the best. Back to Top
- What is your favorite thing to do?
I love to wallpaper. I know that wallpaper has not been in vogue lately, but I feel it is starting a come back. I surprise many people when I tell them that wallpapering actually relaxes me. I am not sure why, but it was something I got very good at early in my painting career. Back to Top
- Who were you trained by?
I have worked for several contractors over the years. The first one to really get me into the trade was Dave Michalkiewicz. He taught me a lot of the things I know today, Dave was a wealth of information. Another great painter was Mike Boone. I learned many things from Mike, but the most things I learned were on the exterior of homes. It was something I didn't do a lot of when I was younger and Mike fine tuned my skills in that area. I owe both of these guys a lot. Back to Top
- Do you refinish wood floors?
I do not do floors all the time, however I have done several in my lifetime. If you look at the picture section of my website, you will see a floor I just recently did. If it is something I can handle and not a large job, I am happy to do it. If you have a lot of wood floors to do, I am happy to recommend a few flooring company's. Back to Top
